As a Quality Engineer at SPM Oil and Gas, you will develop and implement quality control inspection and tests to ensure the company's result is what it should be, inspecting at various stages in production and writing reports on their findings to act where needed. Improve quality level and ensure the system implemented to achieve the company goals.
As the Quality Engineer, you will:
- Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality.
- Improve product quality by making recommendations for change.
- Improve QC personnel competency & certification continuity.
- Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve products.
- Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards.
- Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems.
- Formulate a strategic plan to increase productivity in the business.
- Document results and findings after inspections are carried out.
- Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process.
- Responsible to ensure product achieves customer quality expectations by proactively managing the Containment Action, Corrective/Preventive Action implementation.
- Manage all product quality issue resolutions between product engineering, operations, purchasing, and logistics to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Internal & Supplier Audit.
The successful candidate must bring:
- Good proficiency in English.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering/manufacturing with an excellent understanding of quality management practices or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of job-related experience.
- Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures.
- Having inspections knowledge for dimension, hardness and NDE inspections.
- Good knowledge on API 6A products and raw materials.
- Experiences in auditing internal & supplier.
This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.

Caterpillar Indonesia Batam has an exciting opportunity available as a Quality Supervisor based in Batam, Indonesia.
When you join team Caterpillar as a Quality Team, you will be responsible for championing facility quality programs in adherence with the Caterpillar QMS (Quality Management System) at Batam facility. This would include execution of Global Quality processes in support of Facility CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System) certification and CAV (Customer Acceptance Validation) – core process application.
Your responsibility is to provide support for quality initiatives in facility operations, supplier quality, and materials technology. Position will ensure conformity to global quality processes defined in the Caterpillar Quality Management System (QMS), daily management of quality resources, and ensure resources are trained and competent.
As Quality Supervisor, you will:
- Perform Quality Management and Operation in Safely manner.
- Involve and manage standards for quality management systems, quality planning and strategy, control plans, including documentation requirements, traceability, audit procedures and process control requirements.
- Proactively providing inputs into the production control plan. These inputs include risk data from the Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) as well as warranty information, previous inspection data, and historical data from similar processes and products. Responsible for identifying key product risks which need to be managed through the deployment of a control plan or IPV (In-Process Validation) check.
- Lead & Supervise Quality Team to achieve organization Goals, Team Member Developments and Targets
- Involved in creating, providing and maintaining the quality gate checklist/inspection tools for Inspector.
- Provide process coaching/training to Inspector.
- Manage in Process Non-Conformance, Value Streams BIQ (Built in Quality) Programs, Analyze and evaluate Quality Gates Metrics (Defects per Unit), Miss/Found/New data to identify where improvement opportunities may exist
- involve defining process metrics and targets at the appropriate level and ensure these metrics and targets support enterprise metrics and targets
- Contribute to analyzing the Quality Gate data and field performance and make decisions and assign action-items related to improvement of the effectiveness of the quality management system and their processes, improvement of the product related to customer requirements, and resource needs.
- Proficient in English language.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical design/manufacture.
- 5 (five) years working experience in quality management.
- QC (Quality Control) related certifications (NDT (Nondestructive Testing), CSWIP, SSPC, GDNT, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), QMS, 6 Sigma, CQA, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), etc.) would be advantages.
- Have strong knowledge in problem-solving techniques - 7 QC tools.
- Used to operate SAP and QM (Quality Management) is preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Good analysis, diagnostic and judgment skills, and good computer skills
- Good interpersonal skills are essential to develop a cooperative working relationship with others, both inside and outside the organization.
